I worked at IDC (International Data Corporation) full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great company to gain ICT knowledge
    - Supportive research managers/leaders for the research team
    - Great Stepping stone to a better place
    - Flexible working hours

    Cons

I second the review by the former employee below. IDC Sydney expects their employees to be loyal to the company and yet they are not treating them the right way and not investing enough in L&D. It is not surprising that IDC Sydney faces high employee turnover.

    Advice to Management

It will only get better if the management starts to see the need to pay employees fairly at market rate at the very least, give the employees the opportunities to build career progression and stop hiring new incompetent people to lead. The leader of the Sydney office needs to be more forward-looking and understand that hiring new people is not going to turnaround the company immediately, especially when they are new to the industry. Instead, try focusing on the people they have now and train them up.

I have been working at IDC (International Data Corporation) full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Flexible work hours, work from home. Some talented people, but many, disappointed by leadership and compensation, have stopped putting in much effort.

    Cons

Indifferent to employees concerns, far too focused on short term results. Lower than average pay. Actions of management contradict stated values. Very little room for growth. Very poor employee satisfaction. Long term employees paid too much so they compensate for this by paying new employees poorly. They won't stick around. No accountability or motivation.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees better. Hold lower performing employees accountable. Improve morale to reduce turnover. Provide better compensation and benefits.
