I worked at IDC (International Data Corporation) full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

- flexible hours
- able to work from home
- fast paced, lots of opportunities to learn
- work alongside smart and hardworking analysts

Cons

- compensation, benefits and pay isn't that great
- management isn't as upfront and transparent as they ought to be
- hard work might not be what the management is looking for. some get up there faster through other means.

Advice to Management

Have a look in the area of HR - ensure that someone is looking out to ensure it's stringent, transparent and ethical.

I have been working at IDC (International Data Corporation) full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly team; comfortable working environment. Location of the office is convenient for public transport.

    Cons

Lack of leadership - things tend to just drift, without anything really happening. Work/life balance difficult to maintain as holidays are frequently cancelled. Salary could be better - inflation is rarely taken into consideration. Most of all, no prospects of further career development.

    Advice to Management

Value the good people (and you have a few) more; invest in better technology (ironic isn't it) - although recently more has been done.

I worked at IDC (International Data Corporation) full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great work environment, nice people, great HR and overall HR policies are employee friendly, analysts are the best on the market, an industry known brand to work for, exciting projects to work on

    Cons

Management is very conservative and not open to new ideas. IT tools are outdated. An Excel P&L run company where numbers come before people. Some country managers should have been gone long time ago.

    Advice to Management

Invest more into people and work on their retention, employee engagement, etc. Recognise new opportunities and give a chance for employees to work on new models, projects that are out of the usual scope. Step up and be able to make uncomfortable decisions and don't hold onto numbers only. Stop protecting faulty senior managers
