Pros

It used to be a great company, with great resources and talent. and there's still a vast amount
of experience and forward thinking within the group. Hopefully IGT can be a great company again.

Cons

There certainly is a huge disconnect between upper management and the employees at IGT. People are leaving in droves due to the poor treatment by the new management. Management that are generally new to the gaming industry and have little if any experience when they come through the doors. There is an overpowering sense of arrogance and ignorance from these people who generally treat the employees with contempt and neglect. Very sad considering it was once a great company to work for.

Advice to Management

These people don't take advice. That's the problem. but if they did, i'd suggest that they recognize some of the talent that they have within the walls and promote some of these people before they move on. Spend more time talking to people at ground level. Witness the talent and enthusiasm that still exists even when the company seems to be sinking fast. There really is a vast amount of talent and experience that is just not being utilized.

    Pros

    -Paycheck
    -Benefits are still ok, although health insurance is expensive

    Cons

    -Shrinking or disappearing benefits like profit sharing and cash sharing
    -External candidates being favored for job openings
    -Some people got only 3% raises for promotions, while external candidates would be paid more
    -Arrogant senior management has no respect for employees
    -Senior management moved to LV, there's very little communication to non manager employees from "the top"
    -Peak Performers is propaganda and a joke. Take away benefits from 5000 employees and then give 50 employees and their SO's a nice getaway to a fancy resort - yeah, makes sense

    Advice to Management

    No hope for this senior management, they know better. Advise: more humility, listen to your employees, value and retain talent. Economy will improve and the company will stand up on its feet again, but who will be left?

    Pros

    Many of the employees are kind, intelligent, talented, and a pleasure to work with.

    Cons

    Little to no chance for career advancement, raises and bonuses practically non-existent. Management keeps reorganizing the company with the hopes that they'll find the perfect configuration which will magically make the company more profitable.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employees, especially the ones who have been with the company for years. Many of them have unique insights you probably haven't considered. Stop repeating the same old mistakes.
