I have been working at IGT full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Many different areas to work
Decent benefits and salary
Always new things to work on and learn
Working towards standardization of processes

Cons

Constant restructuring that invalidates years of hard work when suddenly under a new boss
Higher value given to theoretical external hires than knowledgeable people working at the company
Short staffed for number of projects and other work

Advice to Management

Value some of your internal resources more highly than the next hire and hire more staff level people. The most talented leaders in the world cannot execute without someone to actually perform the tasks.

I have been working at IGT full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Merit raises sometimes every year, low though. Opportunity to transfer if you want if you only know someone. Benefits are some what ok. Company vehicle, gas card, tools.

    Cons

Poor communication. Micro managed in all areas of job title. And ever changing policy's to cover gtech if someone gets hurt, it will be you fault. Very unreasonable expectations of job safety policy's. Added job tasks and no raise for extra work required of workers. Always trying to find equipment to fix problems with machines in field and never having GOOD equipment even when it they say its fixed and you look like and idiot when it doesn't work. Work sometimes 16 hour days but on call at under 2 bucks a hour after 8 hours that day. Hear things are not the same company wide and from state to state regarding policy's and work environment. Also the get it done or else attitude from management. And the Your expendable feeling.

    Advice to Management

Stop micro managing and to recognize the hard workers who break there backs just to crape by and support a family on low wages and dangerous work. Also stop boosting about how good Gtech is making huge profits yet not paying the hard workers who keep things running in the field.

    I worked at IGT full-time

    Pros

There are a few good people left after the scorched earth removal of most that knew the industry and game development. It would be considered a fun industry by some (not me).

    Cons

Employees moral is low. They have lost many of their prime game developers. The executive management, especially, and some of middle management is very poor. There is little loyalty to employees.

    Advice to Management

    Resign.
