I have been working at IMF as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent benefits and a favorable pay structure (look up IMF tax-allowances if you're interested to know more). The work environment is very relaxed and cultured. Also, work-life balance is taken very seriously.

    Cons

Little mobility within organization especially for lower-level employees (research and staff assistants very rarely get promoted to a higher pay grade). You are pigeon-holed upon hiring.

    Advice to Management

Provide greater opportunity for advancement (and a more valued career) for lower-level employees that merit greater opportunity.
