I worked at IPsoft full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of clients with varied environments, ample opportunity to see a lot of technology (also a lot of bad decisions)
You're pretty much autonomous, with very little oversight. Big plus for me but perhaps not others
    Interesting and useful monitoring tools
Opportunity to earn a large bonus, sometimes very easily. This is largely dependent on luck though

    Cons

Terrible management, they only exist if you're in trouble. Useless at best, an active hindrance at worst

Their Six Sigma system is one of the most alienating, pointless, demoralizing experiences I have ever encountered. Essentially if the client did not like what you did, for any reason, you are then subjected to a long and Kafkaesque process of explaining your actions to a team in India. You will receive no assistance from your superiors at all, and they are powerless regardless. After you have been found guilty you will be required to attend a phone conference where you are summarily debased and chastised. You are assigned a deviation, which removes hundreds of dollars from your bonus and is also shown publicly on a page everyone in the company can see.

This system singlehandedly destroys productivity, makes enemies out of coworkers, and poisons your relations with the company. You will soon adjust your actions to ensure you do not end up with a 'drop.' This could mean not assisting coworkers, in case your name ends up attached to something bad. It could mean you no longer pick up tickets for clients you're not familiar with. It could mean you now profile every ticket individually, by company and the individual ticket creator, and only work on cases you know carry less chance for trouble. You will become less productive and helpful, and this will perversely benefit your career at IPSoft. It is a system that enforces all the wrong behavior. It is hilariously ineffectual, and indicative of how profoundly awful IPSoft management is.

    Pros

Great atmosphere and co-workers - very friendly and in some cases family feel. Great vision!

    Cons

Expectations at times can be higher than reality permits but that ties into their great vision.

    Advice to Management

Keep dreaming big - understand not to overdue expectations
