Pros

Not a cut throat sales position. Hire frequently in admissions.

Cons

Is for profit, so consistency of goals of departments is not well established. Mist enjoy working Satturdays. Recognition for a good job is not monetary like most jobs in sales or recruiting.

Advice to Management

Recognize employees more for contributions. Show that you care about the quality of students you put out there instead of profit margin. Have better training for responsibilities in the roles that teaches you job skills.

I have been working at ITT Technical Institute full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The coworkers for the most part, are fun to work with. The building is small, so it's a comfortable environment for me.

    Cons

The Dean offers little to no support to people who suggest ways to improve the way things are run. There is next to no accountability for the faculty, when it comes to fulfilling their obligations to remain employed there. Every quarter, we see the same problems, of constant chaos for at least the first two week, where classrooms are not assigned, based on the needs of the curriculum and the number of students. The classroom assignments are done between the LRC Assistant and the registrars office, rather than by having the chairs of the programs, who are familiar with the curriculum sitting down together and getting things organized. The departments do not work together and those other than Academic Affairs, don't even know who the faculty members are. There are 200 students at night and 20 students during the day, yet the management works during the day, so there is next to no support when the majority of students are in school. Problems are brought to the attention of management, but solutions are rarely found. Basically, there's a lack of communication and the will to change the way things have been done for more than 20 years.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people and hold those who fail to do what is required of them, accountable. Support your staff and grow a spine. Stop coddling the students. You're failing to prepare them for the workforce. Employers don't coddle their employees, so you're just creating a culture of immature, whiny adults.

    Pros

Great team, seems like good opportunity, help people gain education. Potential to change lives

    Cons

Constant pressure to enroll students, but always told not to just enroll anyone. You then get in trouble for not enrolling everyone. Students are no more than a vehicle to obtain federal money through the Federal Financial aid process.

    Advice to Management

Re-adjust strategy for current economy. Act professional in the dealings with former and current students. Implement REAL strategies to attract, retain, and graduate individuals who may be gainfully employed.
