Pros

The faculty is great, lots of recognition was given when earned, and I saw growth in a lot of the students over the years

Cons

Didn't enjoy getting cursed out and threatened by students, and working with inner-city students was too difficult for me

Advice to Management

Continue to do a great job, and keep molding young minds! You are the reason a lot of these students will succeed beyond high school.

I have been working at Idea Public Charter School full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Colleagues are talented, friendly, and warm. We are on a mission together, and that is important when working in such a high-stress position.

    Cons

Paperwork! Too little planning time, too much meeting/teaching time. Expectations are high, which is theoretically good, but is stressful when so much of the students' situations are beyond our control.
Students are very blase about their work, they compete for who can "do the least", and they are frequently disruptive.
Other "cons" are just native to a school environment, so I'll leave those off of this post. You probably know what they are if you're reading this.

    Advice to Management

Don't micromanage, do encourage (real) professional growth, and trust us to do our jobs.
