I worked at Illinois Tool Works full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Corporate Benefits, Nice Salary, Paid Holidays. Good Health and wellness plan. 401K, corporate discount plans.

Cons

I worked for ITW for one year and had 4 different supervisors. When the higher-ups start leaving, its time to go.

Advice to Management

Stop Restructuring and focus on dead weight (high paid middle management)There are too many managers, directors, vice presidents, etc. resulting in limited accountability. The minions don't know who's in charge.

ITW offers many opportunities for top performers to rise to the top with current restructuring activities creating many more opportunities for young professionals to distinguish themselves. Strong corporate management is leading a transformational change in corporate culture.

    Cons

While corporate management is strong, Vice Presidents and General Managers (operational leaders) are generally uninspiring and struggling to implement ITW's Enterprise Strategy

    Advice to Management

Actively involve all employees and be patient with employee's discomfort with ongoing business restructuring activities.
