I have been working at Illuminate Education

    Pros

Great culture, great people. You feel like you're working for a cause and a mission rather than a paycheck. There are so many smart talented diverse people that everyone helps sharpen everyone else as people and employees.

    Cons

Some can get used to how good the company treats them and just continually ask for more. Few and far between but still...

    Advice to Management

If someone isn't holding their weight or living up to our standards of excellence let them go. Just because someone is nice or has worked here for a while doesn't mean they still deserve too. We must always improve.

I have been working at Illuminate Education full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Additionally, this Irvine office is close to home so I am always happy to be here and work longer hours whenever needed since I could be back home so quickly. My manager gives me the freedom to explore new ways to perform each tasks and seek improvements so all I need to do is to understand...

    Cons

Since the company is growing so significantly and rapidly especially after a few acquisitions within the past 18 months, many legacy companies had different accounting practices, so it has been a challenge to consolidate and unify toward an ultimate best process. But then fruits taste sweeter after hard work! We shall see more efficient practices in all aspects once we combed through all the tangles.

    I worked at Illuminate Education

    Pros

Flexibility, Work from home Amazing colleagues / team Colleagues have your back 100%

    Cons

Layoffs, then Acquisition. Who's next? Job stability is unknown. Poor Client expectations being set. The end result being other teams cleaning this up. No accountability over feasibility of solutions presented to clients - let the other teams get hit by the bus just to look good, or make a promise with zero communication to the teams that are doing the work. Too many chefs in the kitchen which leads to confusion, and...
