    I worked at InVision Human Services part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    Flexible hours tailored to you, as well as a great training program, and lastly a supportive staff.

    Cons

    Low opportunity for growth in regards to your position. Also, I had trouble contacting my supervisor. Last, the costs that go into gas and car depreciation cuts into your pay. They do offer reimbursement for gas while you are at work and the difference of your house to the companies and clients, but not on the way back.

    Advice to Management

    Pay supervisors to answer calls on weekends.

    Pros

    Two and a half day block shifts with four and a half days off. Lots of opportunities for overtime if you are willing and able to do it.

    Cons

    You are expected to stay overnight without pay at the individuals home. Coworkers and supervisors can be very unproffesional with their interactions with individuals and other staff. There are a lot of cliques, crossing boundaries, and inappropriate relationships between support staff and supervisors so when a long time DSP is crossing boundaries, not doing their job accordingly or working well with other co-workers the...

    Advice to Management

    It is normal to develope friendships in a work place but, importantly you all must remember your roles as supervisors and managers. Good leaders are impartial and look at situations from all sides. Mabey offering 8 hour shifts instead of block shifts for the harder to staff more challenging individuals will help keep those individuals homes staffed since 56 hour block shifts is a lot of hours to be spending with an individual...
