Solution to my burn-out
Associate VeterinarianCurrent Employee, less than 1 yearNew York, NYPros
Supportive, engaging company to work for. They practice what they preach, and have great benefits that I would not have received if I continued to work in a traditional clinical setting. Management is amazing (which is so rare), and the online portal allows me to consult with other vets about cases. I truly have autonomy of my own schedule which has been great for my mental health. They’re constantly improving and adding new benefits and opportunities for growth. They’re quick to respond to trouble shooting and I genuinely feel like they care about our success and wellbeing.
Cons
Can’t think of one but Glassdoor is asking for a 15 word minimum. The only con I can think of is that if you end up wanting to work as a full time associate with any of the partner hospitals, I believe that hospital has to pay a fee to IndeVets. Makes sense to me, since the match would not have been made if IndeVets didn’t bring the veterinarian and the clinic together.

Pros
I have been so happy since becoming an IndeVet in March 2022. I love making my own schedule, and choosing where I work and when. I feel supported and appreciated by my colleagues and by the entire company. It's refreshing to work for a vet-focused company that listens to and genuinely cares about its vets!
Cons
I don't have any complaints!

Pros
Run by veterinarians, IndeVets was a former employer I would gladly go back to and have recommended others to consider looking into joining, whether they are a veterinarian or not. They treat their employees with respect, and value our work life balance exactly like they advertise. I felt heard, seen and respected which has been a rarity throughout my entire professional experience since graduating from vet school. Their benefits are great, and they are constantly learning, growing and adapting to make sure that the work environment is a positive space for us.
Cons
The only con I can really say is that I wish there were non-clinical veterinary positions available for those of us who love the company but do not have the capacity to work clinical shifts full-time.
