Pros

Solid company, solid reputation. Great product. There is definitely a worker/manager culture so if you want a long-term job in the same position, this is a good fit for you.

Cons

I attempted at least 3 different times to advance my career within the company. Each time I was shot down with no solid, objective reason. The managers are pawns to the VP with no authority to really get things done themselves. They felt "since others like me" hadn't been successful at the position, I would automatically be unsuccessful at the position.

Advice to Management

Advance your people and take care of them. They might just stick around longer.

I have been working at Informatica full-time

    Pros

salary, provide the resources you need, a lot of business potential

    Cons

Managers need people skills training. Management takes no responsibility for nurturing and guiding employees. Professionalism with regards to treatment of employees is lacking. There is no camaraderie. There are a few people who sit in rooms and make decisions and do not know how to succinctly communicate the importance and role to each employee who has to make the vision and strategy come to fruition.

    Advice to Management

Invest in management training. There's no benefit to having managers who don't understand the key principles of managing people. Turnover will stay high when no-one understands their role and value to the company.
