Pros

Great people to work with who want to do what's best for the company and for customers. Good opportunities for growth and development. Cares about its employees.

Cons

Offices tend to be widely distributed geographically, which presents an interesting mix of challenges and opportunities. This is getting better with some consolidation of resources.

Advice to Management

Stay focused on the goal.

I worked at Ingersoll Rand full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fair pay and benefits. Compensation seems to be just ahead of comparable corporations.

    Cons

Organization if muddled with mid and senior management roles that have little or no effect on lower ranks direction. Small town facility (Princeton-LCN), has managers that protect and retain local, under-performing personnel. Management will not terminate these employees due to fear of community backlash.

    Advice to Management

Focus on doing the job right. Accurate documentation, Value-Added activities. Putting Cost Savings Objectives that are unattainable on employee's PMP does nothing to motivate, but actually demotivates and crushes morale. OpEx department, created to focus on Lean, does nothing but creates more workload for Process / Manufacturing Engineers. Focus on simplicity, not $$$.

I worked at Ingersoll Rand full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Proposed many learning opportunities and the tools to archive them.

    Cons

Management did not give credit when due. Favorites we played among teams "Hazing" and unethical business was being conducted with company and share holders funds.

    Advice to Management

Please review upper management experience and background education before moving them into an executive position with out a college degree.
