I worked at Inovalon part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Perceived (perhaps in next 10 years or so) Boomer era health care data bulge might benefit the company.

Cons

Lot of compeititors in the arena and Company can not even keep its original name(It is used to be MedAssurant). Very feeble management and HR practices. More than half of very critical IT operations are done by foriegn work force. I wonder how Federal Dept of Helath and Human services allow this critical data access to people with out any security clearances? Lot of apprehension hence the work place tends to be chaotic.
Does not own its own facility hence one can asses the financial position....

Advice to Management

Do not choke when you really have to be decisive and do not show autoritarian traits when the situation is manageable by dialog.

    I have been working at Inovalon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The business area is the place to be in the next few years in IT. Analytics is big in healthcare specially after health care bill.

    Cons

    Absolutely no raises or bonus. a few get lucky because their manager likes them. but the top boys get all the bonus. The managers have wide ranging skills. some super stars and some super dumb and inefficient. The growth is limited to how long you have worked with your manager in current company and previous companies. rely heavily on fresh out of college worker bee's

    Advice to Management

    Transparency! Appreciation and a genuine will to retain talent.

    I worked at Inovalon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The only good reasons I can think of to work at Medassurant were my colleagues. I met some very bright, exceptional, personable nurses there.All but one have since left the company, and she is looking for another job.

    Cons

    Each manager has their own agenda for performance. If an employee is ill, they find a way to fire them by having multiple managers critique their calls and charting, then accuse them of "false documentation".Micro management,huge nurse turnover.Not a good place to work unless you're a manager.

    Advice to Management

    You need to look at your quality control people in Lansing, and maybe you will find out why you cannot keep good nurses.
