I worked at Institute for Healthcare Improvement full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great culture - reflective yet action oriented
Practice what they preach - a learning organization
Many opportunities to contribute on diverse projects

    Cons

You must learn to be content with the virtue of a virtual organization in which a lot of the content knowledge comes from external faculty

I worked at Institute for Healthcare Improvement (More than 3 years)

    Pros

IHI is an amazing place for a young person to work. The mission of the organization is strong and the opportunities to take on more responsibility is amazing. I loved every minute of my three years with the organization

    Cons

There is hardly anything bad that I would say about IHI. There isn't that much room for promotion--you are kind of stuck in the job title that you start in. Thats not to say that you can't get a raise or more responsibility, but it is difficult to move up in the ranks.

    Advice to Management

Please get rid of the winter shut down! It's so unfair if you don't celebrate Christmas. It's too expensive to travel then and for young people who only have a few days of earned time, its so brutal to have to use them all at once.
