I have been working at Institute on Aging full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

- dynamic organization that is changing with the times
- a staff with centuries of combined experience working with and for seniors
- a great variety of services across the spectrum

Cons

- poor management and finances in the past have led to a wage freeze for many employees for several years, and put pressure on employees to work very hrd

Advice to Management

I wouldn't try, since I'm not in their position, other than to suggest they show more how much they value employees

I worked at Institute on Aging full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked with people that are supportive and caring but they were resigning one by one. Looks like the upper management isn't doing well.

    Cons

Upper management is only thinking about profit and not caring anymore for their employees.
    No career advancement opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Be more sensitive and more caring to their employees.

I have been working at Institute on Aging part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most clients are sweet. Employees truly care about the work they do.

    Cons

Turnover is so high. Not enough support from management. No policy and procedure. Disorganized. There are a few incompetent employees that don't get fired.

    Advice to Management

check-in with employees regularly to see what is working and what's not. stop trying to grow when you can't even sustain the employees. stop hiring people out of despair.
