I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

I like the work here, it is very appropriate yet challenging enough for my career development. Coworkers are very smart and helpful, and the work culture is very positive and mature. Recently Intel has also been trying harder to create a fun place to work.

Cons

Bureaucracy can really bog down decision-making. No matter how much Intel tries to clear up the red tape, it always seems to come back. Also in my opinion, Intel could do better in adopting more industry standard tools and letting go of its not-invented-here mentality.

Advice to Management

Don't just talk about risk-taking, let's do it! Flatten organizations, fund crazy R&D projects that have a low chance of succeeding, give engineers time and leeway to try some radical innovations.

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Hiring quotas in effect for women and minorities now so women can now get hired easier

    Cons

It's like high school - groups are in cliques - the "Indian" clique, the "Asian" clique, the "American" clique - the Women at Intel "clique" - they even eat at different lunch tables like high school and there
are even unwritten social interaction rules that no one will ever admit to. Predatory managers out to make their quarterly targets no matter what admit they have no "interpersonal skills" no time for that softskill stuff - it shows in the culture - rude, mean, uncivilized - not progressive at all.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes - your culture needs major overhaul. Warren Buffet just pulled all his cash out - take notice. Make some changes quickly - from the top down - get rid of your "retired in cube" life'rs they're a real buzz kill for excited new graduates
