I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Surrounded by extremely talented and motivated people. Has competitive pay, interesting work, and lots of technical depth. Plenty of projects to move around to. Company has a fair redeployment program if a job function gets obsoleted.

Cons

Still is an inside-out company. Too many organizations touching a product. Encumbered by legacy products and legacy thinkers. Though it has ambitions to be more system oriented, the company still focuses and values silicon & CPU innovations the most.

Advice to Management

Management is making good moves in keeping the company competitive. Continue to value the employees and learn how to move faster.

    Pros

comparatively easy to change groups inside Intel, once you have stayed in Intel for a while
work/life balance is not bad, as long as your boss is reasonable
I hear some people get good compensations, bonus is generally good

    Cons

if you are senior already, not much growth career-wise
culture is very different from outside of Intel. if you join Intel with outside experience, expect a long time to get adjusted to it.
lots of politics, not just managers, all the way down to junior level engineers.
    technical people are not valued
If you have a bad manager, all Pros go away. HR really doesn't care. Upper management probably don't care either.

    Advice to Management

value technical people, instead of people who just talk and take other people's credit, but doesn't do real work. Also, managers need to know more technical stuff, otherwise they can't judge who's just talking and who's delivering.
