I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Great place to work, not much politics, work load is easy to handle

Cons

very strategic, you will spend too much time in meetings than doing actual work, lot of very senior people doing very simple jobs.

Advice to Management

be more agile, move fast, more tactical than only strategic

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Competitive pay, strong benefits, quarterly team events, lots of opportunity for growth and advancement. You get a sense of pride when you see the products you worked on being demanded by your friends and family. Very flexible in terms of working from home, vacation and sick time. The yearly feedback process is constructive and fair, providing employees with the knowledge they need to actually advance their careers, rather than simply punish them for not performing.

    Cons

Work comes in waves, some months it will be slow, others will be very intense (this obviously depends on where in the company you work). Legacy reuse tends to cause a lot of headaches.

    Advice to Management

You are already doing a lot to speed up the pace that Intel can change with the market demands, but it needs to be faster. Intel should keep pushing into the mobile space, despite any criticism because it has a uniquely valuable product that once a larger portion of the market is won, can be a good source of profit in the future.

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

They did provide adequate training and believed in continuing education. They also tried to promote worklife balance and community volunteer programs to support the local schools.

    Cons

Intel has gone through a lot of up and downs affecting job stability-- there were a lot of lay offs during my time at Intel making it a very stressful place to work. Did I mention it was a very stressful work enironment? HR is cutthroat and when they need to cut numbers will find ways to get rid of people so they don't have to pay any severence. Further, promotion/raises were far and few between; however you could always count on getting additional duties and responsiblities as they with out the promotions/pay raises because of personnel cut backs.

    Advice to Management

Although my experience at Intel was not very memorable-- if you need a job and aren't afraid of continous job cuts, long hours, constant changes, and a cut throat HR, give them a try.
