I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good IT and HR departments

    Cons

    1. At Intel working 38 hours a week will get you the same pay and benefits as working 65 hours a week. New people come in and work long hours until they realize how fruitless it is, but there is always a new sucker willing to work the 65 hours. Your manager appreciates it as he goes home at 5:15 every day!
    2. You'll quickly learn that Intel pays 10-30% less than other comparable companies.
    3. You’ll only be asked to work beyond 8-5 in case a large project falls behind. Projects are understaffed and management pulls the schedule in all the time so the project will always be behind schedule and you will be expected to make their top-down schedule work.
    4. Average raise in 2011 was 1.5%, average raise in 2012 was 1%.

    Advice to Management

There are so many managers just waiting to retire. They don't want to work hard, they don't want to change methodologies, they don't want to take on new work. They just want to start working at 9 and go home about 5. These individuals will stand in your way in every position and impede your career.

I worked at Intel Corporation as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Intel has great employee benefits, great intern opportunities and programs, very welcoming. Great retention rate for interns interested in going full-time. Team was very welcoming and helpful. Company culture was rich. Learn how a big company works and functions.

    Cons

Some of the downsides include idle time. Some members in my team were not experienced at all and did not know what they were doing. If you are focused on software then Intel might not be the best place as a majority of their opportunities are for lower level engineering. Some of the projects are boring or not as challenging for interns.

    Advice to Management

Do not be afraid to challenge your intern with work
