Pros

Cutting edge technology.
Shorts. sandals and tee shirts are standard attire.

Cons

It's a sweat shop. They expect you to work 60 hours a week and will only pay for 40.
They do not pay top dollar.
Lots of backstabbers.

Advice to Management

18 percent profit margins are not standard in the semiconductor industry.

Current Employee - Mechanical Engineer in Santa Clara, CA
    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Career growth and no shortage of interesting work to do.
    Flexible work hours
Compensation is not bad but not great.
    Discount program is very nice.
Pay increases are not good even for outstanding reviews or promotions.

    Cons

Bureaucracy and churn in organizational structure.
No real single owner. The responsibilities are spread out through several organizations.
Politics get in the way of getting things done efficiently.
Ironically, no money at the department level to study issues or correct them.
No money for operation staff to correct problems before they break.
Sometimes its difficult to see if individual contributions are making an impact to the bottom line.

    Advice to Management

The constant churn in organizational structure is a moral killer.
