I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Got opportunity to work and get involve in new or current leading technologies in the computing industry.

Cons

Projects are huge and tasks are divided into too small making visibility of the whole project or architecture very short sighted. Big pictures are only available to very few. Plus it is cutthroat in getting good tasks or assignments. And then if you are unlucky, have to contend with managers that don't have any respect to the engineers that work for them.

    Advice to Management

    - If you're going to fork out big bucks for your employees to get degrees like MBAs, don't park them in IC jobs and expect them to stick around.

I worked at Intel Corporation as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    * Though Intel is a big old company, it is still innovating. Even software engineers can work on edge-cutting researches and cooperate with universities.
    * From what I can see, the work-life balance in Intel is OK. Not many people work over time.

    Cons

    * Need export control exemption to work.
    * No temporary housing for interns.
    * There is no community for interns. Interns are hard to connect to each other or not exposed to the opportunities of other teams.
