I worked at Intel Corporation as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

Great work, good people, decent responsibilities. I was treated like a 'real' employee, given important work, and learned a great deal. Pretty good co-op pay. Decent employee perks, such as deep (50%+) discounts on certain products.

Cons

The company was very much 'big business'; working on a design team with over a hundred people can make you feel like a cog in the machine. In addition, it sometimes felt like the company moved very slowly (the projects were huge and had 5-year design cycles - which is normal, but can be tiring.)

I worked at Intel Corporation as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working with leading edge technology and very smart people.

    Cons

Blue badges (direct employees) work insane hours and even long hours during and after holidays. Green badges (contractors) are not considered part of the team. You are treated like part of the factory equipment as a green badge. No, feedback on your performance and little to no overtime. Green badges are not invited to company events. Intel goes out of their way to make sure that green badge are not part of the team. Contracts are cut short (1 year to 9 months).

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better and allow the contractors to work the extra hours.

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good Work Life Balance, Freedom, Smart People to work with

    Cons

Corp Strategy has been faulty over the last several years as PC sales have gone down management has not been able to replace lost volume. Too many old timers in the ranks.

    Advice to Management

Have a strategy stick to it. And house clean
