I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Intel is a great place to work. Intel invests in its employees via training, coaching and opportunities for lateral moves. Open door policy creates great environment. Egalitarian culture: all employees including top bosses have same size cube offices, no reserved parking spots for top bosses etc. Great benefits including a 2 month sabbatical every 7 years. Meritocracy, fair review process.

Cons

Being a manufacturing company, it sometimes get too bureaucratic, or mired in procedures for innovative minds. Also, Intel is usually uncomfortable investing time, effort and money outside its core strength (Silicon Manufacturing) and will snap them shut at short notice.

Advice to Management

Show patience with new business initiatives to grow business in adjacent areas.

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good pay, great benefits. Casual dress code. 15 years in some things haven't changed at all.

    Cons

Getting along more important than good product. Ranking process means high achievers seen as threat to others' reviews. Pressured to not push for needed work from others. Talking the talk more important than getting things done. ('Fit' more important than function). And who you know outweighs what you know.

    Advice to Management

Look at middle lower management. Look at what products/processes are actually obtaining/keeping customers (not just revenue this quarter). Especially look at product groups that exist because the "market is there so you need this group" but aren't producing customers/product over time (even several years).Stop re-orging/moving these groups even though they're not producing.

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working at Intel, I had the opportunity to work on some pretty interesting projects with very intelligent engineers.

    Cons

It's cutthroat. Dog eat dog. You've got to be better than your peers or you're not performing.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and utilize them in an area which they want to work.
