I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

In most of the cases work/life balance is ok, but not in my personal case. The organization cares about ethics, social responsibility and sure creates a lot of high end technology

    Cons

The company is very slow, is the opposite than Facebook; most of the management staff is pretty old, too optimistic, risk adverse and very mind closed. Intel is a great company for an industrial or electrical engineer; but from a software engineer perspective it sucks (and a lot)!!!

    Advice to Management

The promotion process should be less conservative, the environment doesn't care about creativity. Incentive risk among ranks

Former Contractor - PPV Engineering Maintenance Tech in Austin, TX

I worked at Intel Corporation as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked there for 18 months as a CW. I thoroughly enjoyed working with all the people, both Engineers, Managers and Lab Leads, in particular in the PPV Lab, Austin TX. and other CW's. I especially enjoyed the various challenges that occurred almost daily to complete the daily/months product schedules. I appreciated working with the Engineers (HW and SW) that were always will to share their knowledge.

    Cons

Nothing to do with Intel, just the Austin traffic, really nothing as compared to the California Bay Area.

    Advice to Management

Keep thing going as you are and always remember the Employees.
