I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Undeniably the best company to start one's career... Many opportunities to learn, move to different type of responsibilities, great pay and compensation, etc.

Cons

Of late, not being able to get a foot hold in the low power market has started a large chess game type internal politics where pawn sacrifices are being made with the hope of long term prospects... It appears however it might be too late. Hopefully it will not end up the Motorola way.

Advice to Management

Portland is the big gorilla, and to save the empire in Portland, dont systematically kill the smaller sites, and steal their projects away. It might help save the jobs of those in Portland for 5 more years, but might hurt Intel beyond repair. (But who knows, maybe the upper management there plans to retire after 5 years so they dont care!!)

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Opportunities to move around. Work life balance depends on teams but don't expect any rewards for your hardwork. 2 month sabbatical.

    Cons

No upward movement. Pay and benefits below market. A lot of attrition recently. Many years of over promising and under delivering - common across all management chain. People come here to retire.

    Advice to Management

Own up to your mistakes. There has been repeated screw ups by the management with no accountability in the executive bench.
