I have been working at InterContinental Hotels Group full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

* Could be your self
* There is an opportunity to engage in management activities

Cons

Some how they difficult to understand for " be your self " they interpret "a freely independent" with no view of the rules that bind

Advice to Management

Too dangerous to be disclosed with respect to job security ....

I worked at InterContinental Hotels Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

At least 4200 hotels around the world, IC brand is great. Good employee discount w various locations around the world. Good attention to employees of junior levels w monthly recognition and prizes.

    Cons

Management level and directors level are overworked. In UAE average working hours are 14+ hrs a day with no overtime pay. Packages include weekend food allowance which I found very nice.

    Advice to Management

Push for packages and read contracts properly, make sure any adjustments are in writing.

I worked at InterContinental Hotels Group full-time

    Pros

Guests in this hotel are nice people with reasonable expectations.
You get free meals on your duty as much as you can eat on your half an hour break.
You get free tea or coffee on your break.
You get 50% discount at the bar and restaurant.

    Cons

Management is incompetent with messy expectations.
Expectations are not clear, not communicated, inconsequent.
Staff is too small to provide quality service.
Management focus on quantity of work without basic level of quality.
Management treats employees as animals (disrespect, shouting, rude).
Some important appliances, machines are wrong and they do not want to get it repaired. (Coffee machine, dishwashers, elevator).
They offer you training but you do not get it.
They do not provide necessary Food Higiene and Health & Safety trainings.
They offer you induction but you do not get it.
They offer you uniform but you get it only if there is available, otherwise you have to buy for yourself.
They offer uniform dry cleaning but you do not get it.
They offer you wide range of discounts with the company and its partners but you do not get them.
You do not get written contract, at least in the first 5 weeks for sure.
You get your rota right before it is starting, a few hours earlier.
You work various shifts, morning can follow night shift within a few hours.
You have to keep an eye on your rota changes, they will not inform you about it.
You must work overtime for your basic salary without option to refuse circa every third shift.
Most of the F&B staff are indians communicating in their own language most of the time.
The athmosphere of the restaurant and lounge is very cold and unfriendly and the same as a workplace.
