I have been working at International Rescue Committee full-time

    Pros

IRC is a diverse organization with foundational core values. It assists marginalized and persecuted peoples. At heart, IRC is a wonderful organization in which they utilize both national and international programs to reach many and bring refugee and asylee populations from harm to home.

    Cons

Depending on what office you are located at, you'll deal with certain hang-ups and challenges that you might not oterwise face at another organization. the HQ office has an iron-fist on just about everything from IT support to shared information. There needs to be more opportunity for advancement and transitioning from US programs to IPD and vice versa.

    Advice to Management

Meticulously search for candidates in senior management that reflect the core values of the IRC and the IRC Way. There are a few individuals in senior management that aren't compassionate, empathetic, nor kind. People in key roles within leadership and in different US programs need to have certain humanistic traits for the job role they are playing.

    Cons
