I have been working at International Truck and Engine full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Content of work is interesting and provides a good challenge.

Cons

Location is in a very high cost of living area that leaves much to be desired from a quality of life perspective.

Advice to Management

Properly compensate your employees relative to the location. Also do not punish the employee's for poor leadership decisions that cause undo workload on the workforce.

    Pros

The only reason to work at International is if you are an engineer with diesel engine experience and you MUST live near Chicago. The only other place to work is Case New Holland? International knows this, they know that their employees are "stuck" because if they want to quit and get a new job, they MUST relocate.

Actually, the only other reason to work there is that they pay their non-managers overtime. So if you do not have a life, you can make up for the poor salary with the overtime pay. Just do not count on it as they have "frozen" overtime in the past when budgets get tight.

    Cons

International does not pay very well. They hire engineers from the bottom of the barrel. They are currently understaffed. Waaaay understaffed. Engineers are quitting this company left and right. If you interview with this company, be sure to ask how many engineers in the specific department have quit in the last year.

    Advice to Management

Maybe if you paid a decent salary, people would stop quitting.

    Cons

Very slow in decision making, technical knowledge is not the priority

    Advice to Management

Take care of the engineers. The good ones left the company.
