    Pros

The company has a strong, positive culture. The management does seem to care about the employees. The benefits are very good many choices for health coverage. In San Diego, the new Torrey Santa Fe campus is great with an excellent cafe. The company hires smart people and, for the most part, keeps them engaged in interesting work.

    Cons

The company is trying to reinvent itself with unknown up-to-now success. Lots of reorganization going on currently. Just had a sizable chunk of lay-offs. The company seems a bit aimless at this point, relying on the success of its QuickBooks and TurboTax brands for continued income.

    Advice to Management

Determine the long-term direction and start moving strongly in that direction.

    Pros

Pretty good benefits, generally relaxed working environment, good stated corporate values, support for charitable time and resources outside of work.

    Cons

Senior management seems to change often but remain having no clue about what is happening within the company. Too many meetings and too much time spent trying to find new ways of tracking hours.

    Advice to Management

Have a clear, actionable vision before spouting textbook phrases. Transparency, transparency, transparency. Talk to those who actually do the front-line work. Stop pushing down orders from on high and spend some time in the trenches with us.
