    Pros

Diversity for real, Strong Leadership and HR function, Nice, talented people - some of brightest I have worked with in my career.

    Cons

Its still pretty small. There is really no place to go except for Mnt View/Tucson/Plano TX. Occassionally, they hire a few GE Bruisers - those that do not have good soft skills and do anything to get ahead. This sometimes causes inital damange but HR is excellent at damage control so they round up those personality types and move them to roles where they cannot hurt anyone but themselves (eg. they remove their direct reports, move them out of the buildings so that they work out of their homes, give them coaching to see if they can change their primal behaviors, reccomend they get help from trained psychologists if they think it will help, etc).

    Advice to Management

Be careful as you try and continue to become an efficient company - already coming from a platform of efficiency so do not go so far that you loos the spirit of who you are. Recently I have noticed really poort customer service in Quicken and found it difficult to get fair resolutions and for Intiut to demonstrate its usual passion around being accountable for their mistakes.

Intuits long standing focus on the customer has fended off the likes of Microsoft Money and many other competitors and this due to Scott Cook ensuring that they hire well, weed out those who do not believe in being passionate about the employee and the customer. This is your competitive advantage, do not lose it.

    Pros

There are lots of interesting things going on. It's a relatively stable company. There are some great leadership training opportunities backed by senior management. The company does seem to care about the employees (e.g. we still have a Christmas party, children's Winter Wonderland, monthly socials or beer bashes). We also do a great job giving back to local communities through volunteering, donation matching, etc.

    Cons

As a relatively large company, it can sometimes take a long time to get things done and get new products/services out.

    Advice to Management

Keep hammering on the "need for speed", and somehow get all the layers of management to help speed things up.
