I worked at Intuit full-time

Pros

Great campus
Great benefits
Higher than average compensation for the area
Lots of great people at the individual contributor level

Cons

Slow to no advancement at higher levels. They hire most VP's and Directors from outside.
Work life balance skews towards work.
Direction from upper management is not clear and focused. i.e. 40 things are a priority.
Yearly layoffs
Growth is slowing
Moving work offshore

Advice to Management

Spend more effort on substance and less effort on spin.
Make the effort to really know and understand the organization 1 and 2 levels below you versus relying on superficial assessments by others.

I worked at Intuit full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Campus is loaded with things to make it easy for you to enjoy your day....Gym on site, Lunch room and other things as well.

    Cons

Bonus structure.....The bonus is based on the reply of customers surveys in which the rep has no control over. Meaning....If the system is down and a customer is calling in for assistance with Quick Books, And the problem isn't solved by the end of the call The customer would normally give a bad survey on a 0-10 scale and if its anything lower than an 8 it hurts your overall bonus.

    Advice to Management

Rethink the bonus structure because it isn't fair to the staff to take money out of the pockets of the reps when they have no control of the system.

I have been working at Intuit full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, family environment, lack of micro management and needless bureaucracy. Your opinion is always valued. There is an emphasis on having fun and colleagues supporting eachother.

    Cons

Lack of job security, not great at sticking to what works or learning from mistakes. A little haphazard at times and change, which is a constant feature, could often be handled better.

    Advice to Management

Consult employees more before making changes that affect those employees.
