I worked at Invesco full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Well respected name in the asset management industr. Invesco provides an intelligent work environment with knowledgable coworkers. I felt that coworkers were collaborative in projects.

Cons

Internal jockying for limited promotions was frustrating. On the whole there was no clear path to promotion or advancement. Pay was significantly less than other asset managers.

Advice to Management

Integrate the different businesses through a coherent strategy.

I worked at Invesco full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Salary was above market rate, and our small group was excellent. Many friendships made.

    Cons

Company worked its employees to the bone, with little to no recognition. After the AIM/Invesco merger, the Invesco IT management was incredibly poor. No respect to their employees, which in turn caused everyone to work with blinders on.

    Advice to Management

Stop managing to the bottom line. Let the employees do their thing! You had a great group of extremely talented people, however now most have left or been laid off. Marty Flanagan is trying to keep the ship afloat at all costs, and those costs have removed wheat made the company strong to begin with - its employees. Too bad.

I have been working at Invesco full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

In the Operations department, there are options to work from home a few days a wee and have a flexible schedule. You also get 3 weeks of vacation in your first year.

    Cons

The office location can be a pain to get to no matter where you are coming from in the morning. Some of the management lack people skills, so when they are talking to the group, or individually, you have to have a thick skin.
