Pros

JCP is on the edge of changing how America looks at retail. Management is fair when requesting time off for sick children or illness however they do deduct it from your vacation time.

Cons

While some of the changes have been a good thing for jcp, the changes were too quick for the customers and worse for the associates. Many things should of been planned better from releasing the pricing team (and then doing months of price changes) to eliminating the catalog pick up area. You never knew what was expected because the job description changed every other week. Jcp is trying to foster a culture of openness and creativity but middle management is still use to squashing ideas at the local level and then presenting them as their own. If you plan on working for jcp, watch your back.

Advice to Management

Associates work for low pay because they love working for the company. Remember that and play by the Golden Rule.

    Pros

    Very easy to keep a family balance and get time off when needed. With the cutback on hours however, you get more time off than you want.

    Cons

    Very poor morale right now, lots of mistrust about upper management. Customers frustrated about lack of registers and associates to help.

    Advice to Management

    Please respect the people who have worked for you for over the years. New minimum wage people aren't invested in this company, its just a pit stop
