    I worked at J. C. Penney full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The facilities aren't bad and it is an easy enough location to get to. They have a health club and a doctor's facility onsite. Parking garage (which fills quickly)

    Cons

Poor pay, (they admit paying middle of the road), terrible and expensive insurance benefits. The employee is not their most important asset.

    Advice to Management

Quit looking down at your employees and pay them what they are worth! Put something substantial in place for employee recognition...not some dumb note pad you can use to write a note to another employee for recognition. (Really???!!) Top management is paid well, and the further down on the food chain one is, the worse the pay. No wonder many people won't consider apply at your company.

If you take a table and cut off the bottom of one leg....that table becomes unstable and useless!! Your employees should be looked at with the same value placed on those that aren't at the top!!

    Pros

I worked with a few amazing ladies that had been with the company 20+ years

    Cons

The pay was very low almost $3 less per hour than my previous jobs, I was micromanaged as if I had never worked in a store before
