I worked at J. C. Penney full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Nice employees
Good benefits
At times was fun

Cons

* Long hours and even some overnights especially during holiday season
* The new CEO has taken this company in the wrong direction and the company has laid off a lot of dedicated, long term employees for younger more experienced because they don't want to pay the higher salaries or benefits

Advice to Management

Bring back the old Jc Penney that cared about their employees.

    I have been working at J. C. Penney full-time

    Pros

Supportive creative environment. Great leadership. Wonderfully committed to the development of their employees.

    Cons

Low starting wages compared to commission-based cosmetic sales, but the advantage of less pressure and more training.

    Advice to Management

Although a strong committment to training and development is valued by those employees who are worth keeping and benefits both the organization and the employee, a small increase salary rates could better reflect your passion for your people.
