I worked at J. C. Penney full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

-Modest Associate Discount
-laid back atmosphere
-storied brand

Cons

-Many changes going on currently that are promising but dealing with the public and customers attitudes about it is not.
-6 hour shifts that do not make sense ie 6pm-2am then a 9am shift the next day
-Was "full-time" but never got to 40 hours
- Pay was ridiculously low even with experience

I have been working at J. C. Penney part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

JC Penney offers a flexible schedule to their employees. The employee discount is 25% , better than Targets 10%. They offer medical and 401k benefits. Also, the one I work at is inviting and you get to meet new people everyday!

    Cons

Most of the times you are required to stay upto 1 or 2 past closing to zone(clean/ fold). They continually require employees to ask ask ask customers about getting a credit card, inform about prices, donate to a monthly charity and the list just seems to keep growing.

    Advice to Management

A crew that comes in a hour before closing would be really effective. Not having such high credit goals would make them more attainable. Bring coupons and more informative advertising.
