I have been working at J. C. Penney part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Great team & enviornment
    -Decent part time benefits
    -Flexible schedules

    Cons

    -Hours aren't stable

    Advice to Management

My store has a lot to offer, and after a few tough times has been growing. I feel like a lot of the workers really deserve a decent raise for all the long nights and extra hours we've put into making JCP "America's favorite store".

  2. "no longer a good company to work for."

    I worked at J. C. Penney part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It is in a mall so there is walkin traffic.
If you are new you can hope to build a client base. You do get a small store discount.

    Cons

No longer is there any commission. There is manditory training for styles that are not current. Free kids cut drove away a lot of regular customers and brought in some of the worst customers I ad ever done. Receptionists cram appointments into lunch and break times without asking. Management is not honest with employees. They couldn't afford to pay hourly so they started cutting hours but continue to offer free kids cuts. They are denying vacation requests(probably can't afford to pay it). The company is losing millions of dollars under new CEO.

    Advice to Management

Be honest with employees, don't mislead them.
