    I worked at J. C. Penney full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Family environment, loyal associates, good work life balance

    Cons

    I realized the company needed to change and move forward but at what cost. Eliminating long time employees who gave their blood, sweat and tears because they loved what they were doing. There is no longer a family feel because of the new CEO who doesn't care about the associates but only the bottom line. Unfortunately, you have lost many good associates who were your life long customers based on one appraisal and not looking at all appraisals. One okay appraisal should not warrant termination.

    Advice to Management

    Maybe if you would have spent time to reinvest in your team your results would be better. Customers want sales and coupons not everyday low pricing. It is amazing that you spew out Fair and Square pricing but not fair and square to your employees....
