Pros

The people that work at JCPenney are some of my best friends still!

Terrible leadership at most levels of the company. Career growth reliant upon politics.

Advice to Management

Value talent and promote it. Stop promising undeserved associates promotions that haven't been earned.

    I worked at J. C. Penney part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I like the people i worked with. They were friendly and worked as a team. They are hard workers and very loyal to the company.

    Cons

Keep the employees in the store with the doors locked until the store is clean. Stores cloes at 9:00 p.m. and if you are lucky you may get to go home at 10:00 p.m. During the holidays the store closes at 10:00 and you may be in there until 2:00 a.m.
The expect you to be back to work at 7:00 a.m. for a big sale the next morning. You never know what time you are going home. J.C.Penney needs to get rid of all thosse dump tables and only order enough merchandise to fill the racks and not over flowing on to the floor.
Have people straighting the sales floor all day and not just at closing time.
Have some on standing guard at the opening to the dressing room and have the clothing counted and give a certain number of clothing they can go into the dressing room with. They have to come back out with the clothing they went in with on a hanger . This would count down on shoplifting and all the heavy work load on the employees at closing time.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees better .
