I have been working at J. C. Penney part-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

employee discount is the only positive thing right now.

Cons

Pay is very low have not had a raise in 2 years no more bonuses. Mangers are very blind to
what is really going on in there store. The do not show any appreciation for there hard working employees.

Advice to Management

Hire people who really know how to Manage a store . Mangers need to be trained with more people skills. Teach them teamwork those skills are lacked.

    Pros

    Good employee discount - 25% off most things.
    Many of the store associates are nice and willing to help each other.

    Cons

    Not given enough time or people to complete most tasks.
    Rarely assigned to complete projects you started and instead they are given to someone else that you then need to explain things to.
    Rarely recognized for doing anything other than getting credit applications.
    Lack of communication between store leaders that leads to conflicting directions.
    No reviews or raises this year.

    Advice to Management

    Talk to each other and get on same page.
    Allow associates to complete tasks they start.
    Do not give laundry list of things to do in one day that are impossible to complete.
    Give recognition for things other than credit apps.

    Wish I could have worked more when my children were in school.....not evening and weekend shift.
