I worked at J. C. Penney part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

25% discount on all items including Sephora! I loved the manager of my department, but the other ones were rude and sneaky.

Cons

I didn't like that I had to clean other departments after mine was finished. They would hire little staff to help out in the front and expect us to do their dirty work, and then have the nerve to be rude about it. The managers shopped on the clock and it was too much pressure to sell.

Advice to Management

Be consistent. There was way too many changes being made... everyday.

    Pros

    Good co-workers, relaxed environment, very flexible schedules, low pay unless commissioned

    Cons

    Lack of communication, minimal training, minimal hours, working weekend and holidays.

    Advice to Management

    Communicate better to middle management, and make them communicate better with customer service associates. Take advice from associates who have been working there for a long time. Work on HR services.
