I worked at J. C. Penney part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Had an great interview with the manager

Cons

The management of the associates was very unorganized and not professional.
There was some associates that was put in charge of the store when the manager was gone.
One associate that was left in charge should not have been, because she was rude to me in front of customers and coworkers.

Advice to Management

Consider discussing time-off policies and compensation.
Manager needs to let all the associates know when he`s going to put a associate in charge.

    Pros

    I really enjoyed my work experience and co-workers. My supervisors expectations were clearly out lined and were very consistent through out the company.

    Cons

    Training was weak, but the learning curve was pretty generous. Most of the training was "on the job". The Holiday schedule was ridiculous, but then again it is retail.

    I worked at J. C. Penney (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Have a better life. Dont apply at JCPenney. Even on their employee discounts were marked up 120%. Not a good way of doing business.

    Cons

    They are in a state of bankruptcy, never work here.

    Advice to Management

    Let the company go bankrupt. It is past its time.
