Pros

Working for Jc penney can get your foot in the door for other customer service jobs.

Cons

I worked on commissions so it was very dog eat dog. Also pushing credit put alot of pressure on the employees.

Advice to Management

stop pushing credit on the employees.

    Pros

    All in all it's a great company. They are a hundred years old and tryingto break out othe old habits.

    Cons

    It's really hard to get promoted unless you are in the training programs.

    Advice to Management

    Look at your employees individual performance. Don't keep going outside the company to promote.

    Great name recognition and outstanding customer service reputation.
    Still fabricates all soft window products in company owned facilities within the United States.
    Good employee discounts.

    Cons

    Senior management and marketing seems to be done without any input from the personnel actually doing the job.
    Understaffed installation department.
    Recent price increases have made selling very difficult in an extremely competitive market.

    Advice to Management

    Recent layoffs in the custom decorating division should have been done based on performance and seniority as a result there has been a significant increase in lead times and correct order entry procedures. .
