I have been working at J. Jill full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

A generous discount allows buying the awesome clothes affordable. Management bonus program in place. A positive work environment with home office support.

Cons

A crazy workload at times with unattainable goals. Limited amount of hours to work with causing a huge workload on employees.

Advice to Management

Make DM' s accountable for their time and follow up. Listen to and take heart to the info from feed back from the field. Space out the projects over time instead of requiring unrealistic deadlines with limited hours. Analyze scheduling scorecard when projecting sellable hours.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at J. Jill full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The CEO has spent 2 years cultivating a strong leadership team. And the same for the field organization. After a prosperous year, enough teams have gained credibility, and the enthusiasm and belief in the brand is spreading. this is a great place to be if you want to be part of the growth and evolution of an established brand.

    Cons

Still in the midst of change; some processes are slow to evolve. Not a con, every company has this upon them.

    Advice to Management

Continue to get out to the field, understand the reality of now and how it does or does not align with the vision. Good things are happening and the answers are always in the stores.

I worked at J. Jill full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work load is mamageable. Competitive salary and benefits.

    Cons

Poorly designed product with zero fashion sense. Leadership not interested in and do not value their people. Culture is toxic. Emplyee turnover was very high and leadership turned a blind eye to it.This company lost it's identity years ago and continues to flounder -if the company closed it's stores it would not make a ripple in the retail world.

    Advice to Management

People work for people. Treat your emplyees with respect. Dig in to the root cause for high turnover. It's right there.
