I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    competitive pay
    valuable work experience

Although the hours are long, the exposure to financial markets and products is hard to match.
The junior staff (Analyst & Associate) are great people - hard working and bright.

    Cons

    Cut throat culture
    Long hours

Management talent can be lacking, as promotions are largely based on p/l performance. This can be frustrating for the junior ranks. This varies by group.
Senior management seems so overworked and wrapped up in politics that developing junior talent is nearly non-existent.

    Advice to Management

Take some time to develop and motivate junior talent.
