I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Respect for the firm's brand, you want to have this in your resume if you worked in Finace
You are in the middle of all the action if you work in NYC, the market is real and so is the buzz within the firm
Pay is as good as you negotiate it to be and the CEO is a very bold and attractive figure

Cons

The firm is mired in a highly matrixed org structure
You need to learn to be skilled in manouvering through corporate mazes to get things done

Advice to Management

Please cut the red tape. The world is moving way faster than you. You are always playing catch up.

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits are great. They cover tuition at many online universities. Great campus in Seffner.

    Cons

Office politics are a major pain. If you are not a politician, you will not do well here.
Chicago culture after merger with Bank One completely ruined this company's work environment.

    Advice to Management

Review formula is flawed. Out of every ten employees, two will get an automatic "Needs improvement," even if it is ten Einsteins. That is a goofball system and leads to turnover of good people.
