I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They do go out of their way to move you to a new position if your current position has been eliminated. The benefits are pretty good. I was personally lucky enough to have two great managers - I'm still formulating an opinion on my new current manager.

    Cons

Because they go out of their way to move displaced workers, people are sometimes moved into positions where they are either incapable of, or don't care to do their best. If you have experience in whatever business they move you to, you may very well be answering to someone who has zero experience in the department that they are in charge of. Not to mention that the most inept employees can be making considerably more than someone with experience, due to the fact that their previous position had a higher salary which they got to take with them when they got moved into their current role.

    Advice to Management

If you're going to move people into various positions, then recognize and act upon when people are failing in their new roles and don't just keep dead weight around because they have seniority.
