I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Provided me foot in the door to the corporate world. Grateful for the opportunity, but it was not a pleasant journey from the mass hiring in 2011 to the mass layoff in 2013. Heard great things about all other departments at Chase. This review only reflects employment in the default sector of Chase.

    Cons

Department was completely unorganized and at times very unprofessional. Glad to say most of the individuals that contributed to the negative image of the department either quit or were terminated after a massive complaint session from employees in 2012 (potential class action lawsuits).

The department never had a chance to really rebuild from the mess previous management and certain individuals created. Ultimately, multiple California sites will be shut down and relocated to other locations throughout the U.S. by 2014.

Too many changes and confusion within the job functions. Example 1: Inexperienced individuals placed on customer care calls without proper training which in turn provided customers with horrible service. Example 2: Ask 3 people in management a question and you will receive 3 different answers. Seems company's way to handle everything is "quick fix" solutions which only create bigger problems in the end. Makes you wonder how other financial institutions are being ran...

    Advice to Management

Pay more $$$ and attention to the people who deserve it
